District President speaks with congregation
The Indiana-Kentucky District President, Rev. Daniel May, spoke with the congregation on April 12, 2007 concerning the recent vacancy at Faith Lutheran Church. President May first spoke of the process that the congregation will follow in issuing a call for a new pastor.
The first step is to fill out the congregational profile. This document provides statistical information for the last 5 years and information for the future as well. It includes a congregational biography and trends. The call committee has sent each communicant member of the congregation a questionnaire to help them filll out the profile.
After the profile has been completed, members of the congregation can submit names for consideration as a pastor here at Faith. The profile along with the submitted names is then sent to the district office. The district office will then obtain Personal Information Forms (PIF's) and Self-Evaluation Tools (SET's) from the selected pastors. This information is then returned to the call committee for evaluation.
After the PIF's and SET's have been received, a congregational meeting will be held to vote on a candidate to whom we wish to issue a call.
The whole process would take a minimum of three to five months.
President May then answered questions from those in attendance. The meeting closed with the Lord's Prayer.
