Stewardship for February

February 5th – Fifth Sunday after the Epiphany

1 Corinthians 9:16-27:  St. Paul had the beautiful gift of showing such concern for others that he would refrain from doing what he was perfectly free to do so that the Gospel of Jesus would be better received by those to whom he was witnessing.  One of the beautiful aspects of Christian stewardship is seeking and doing those things that are in the best interest and welfare of those around us!

February 12th –Sixth Sunday after the Epiphany

1 Corinthians 10:19-31; 11:1:  What a beautiful reminder that whatever we do we do to the glory of God and the welfare of those around us!  Maturing stewards, by the power of the Holy Spirit, do the right things for the right reasons and strive for excellence in all they do—not for their own glory and praise but for the praise and glory of our gracious God!

February 19th – Last Sunday after the Epiphany

2 Corinthians 3:12 – 4::6:  Christian stewards are like cracked clay pots.  This might at first sound like a negative but when we remember that when the light of Christ is in us it will shine through our cracks.  This means that we sometimes show our best Christian stewardship when our cracks are present.  By the power of the Holy Spirit let us be all we can be and even more that we are!
